Legacy of Hope created the Emergency Patient Support Network, in partnership with Philadelphia hospitals, to quickly identify financially disadvantaged Philadelphia cancer patients, and provide emergency support in the form of groceries, rent or whatever other critical assistance might be required.

On March 26th, 2023 I am running the Philadelphia Love Half Marathon, and dedicating every mile in support of the Emergency Patient Support Network to ensure no cancer patients in Philadelphia, or their families, go hungry or lose their homes as a result of their diagnosis. I run in memory and honor of my father, Peter C. McVeigh, who after fighting bravely for 18 months, lost his battle with pancreatic cancer on February 7, 2017. As a lifelong educator and founder of Germantown Academy's Community Service Organization, my father dedicated his life to standing up for those who needed it most. It was his singular mission to serve the underserved of our community. I run to carry my father's legacy of service forward. I run for those who cannot.

I promise to train and race hard, but I need your support. Every donation, no matter the amount, will ensure no cancer patient or their family, goes hungry as a result of their diagnosis.
