This September 12th and 13th, I’ll be climbing the Rocky Steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art for 24 straight hours as a Sponsored Athlete for Legacy of Hope during their 9th annual endurance event, PHL24.

This is my third year participating. I first joined in 2024 after the passing of my good friend David April — founder of Fishtown Beer Runners and a longtime board member of Legacy of Hope. David believed deeply in showing up for people, especially during their hardest moments, and that spirit continues to inspire me every step of the way.

Legacy of Hope supports cancer patients and families who have run out of options and support. The funds raised through PHL24 help provide fresh food, heat, hot water, housing support, and other critical necessities so families can focus on getting through today instead of worrying about how they’ll survive tomorrow. PHL24 is about resilience, community, and showing up when people need help most. Alongside 30 other athletes, I’ll be climbing with the grit and determination that Philadelphia is known for. We climb because so many families are already fighting the toughest battle of their lives.

The climb won’t be easy, but neither is what these families face every single day. That’s why we keep going — step after step, hour after hour.

Through Legacy of Hope’s Emergency Patient Support Network, more than 8,200 cancer patients and family members have already been protected from hunger and given hope during incredibly difficult times.
