I Run for Those Who Cannot…
Running did not begin as something I loved.
It began as something I needed.
There were mornings when getting out the door felt impossible—when my body felt heavy, my mind louder than my feet, and every step reminded me how hard simply existing can feel sometimes. I didn’t run because I was strong. I ran because I was struggling.
Over time, those miles became more than exercise. Running became a place to breathe. A place to process grief, frustration, fear, and hope. A place where discomfort slowly transformed into resilience. Where pain didn’t disappear—but it became something I could carry.
On March 29th, 2026, I will run the Philadelphia Love Run Half Marathon, dedicating every mile to families in Greater Philadelphia who are facing a struggle far greater than tired legs or aching lungs: fighting cancer while worrying about whether there will be food on the table or a roof over their heads.
Each week, families in Philadelphia with a loved one battling cancer go hungry. No one should have to choose between treatment and a meal, or between paying rent and staying alive. Through the Emergency Patient Support Network, Legacy of Hope partners with Philadelphia hospitals to identify financially vulnerable cancer patients and provide immediate support—preventing hunger and homelessness during the most difficult fight of their lives.
When I run, I get to choose discomfort.
Cancer patients and their families do not.
That truth is what carries me forward—through training, through the race, through every mile. I promise to train hard and run with purpose, but I cannot do this alone.
If you are able, please consider supporting this cause. Every dollar matters. Every dollar helps a family survive. Even sharing this page makes a difference.
Together, we can ensure that Philadelphia cancer patients and their families never go hungry.
Thank you for running this race with me—step by step, mile by mile, heart to heart.
