This September 11th and 12th, I will be climbing the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art for 24 hours as one of Legacy of Hope’s sponsored 24-hour athletes. I promise never to quit, but I need your support.

Some may ask, "Why is she climbing for 24 hours?" Here is my "why."

* I climb with the hopes of raising $95K. These critical funds will support 3,800 cancer patients and their families currently experiencing acute food insecurity, by providing them with 79,800 healthy meals.
* I climb to ensure no cancer patient or family member living in Philadelphia goes hungry in 2022.
* I climb in honor of my hero, my best friend, my dad, Peter C. McVeigh.
* I climb in memory of the 24 hours after we were informed of my Dad's diagnosis of Stage 2B metastatic pancreatic cancer.
* I climb in memory of the 24 hours leading up to and after my Dad's surgery, praying for a miracle.
* I climb in honor of the 13,140 hours over 18 months that Dad bravely endured his chemotherapy treatments - never once losing hope, never once giving up the fight. 
* I climb in memory of Dad's last 24 hours with us on this earth. Dad went to heaven at peace and on his own terms, surrounded by his family and friends, knowing he was loved beyond measure. He knew that while he was leaving us, to go be with God and Mom, that his legacy would live on in all who loved him. 
* I climb in honor of the 39 years I had with him; and although I would give anything for another 24 hours, I know how truly blessed I was to be raised and loved by such a remarkable man. 
* I climb knowing he and Mom will be with me for those 24 hours, my angels by my side, just as they always have been.
* I climb because he taught me to never quit. I climb because he taught me to always fight, and to stand up for those who need it most.
* I climb to live his legacy.
