This September 11th and 12th, I will be climbing the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art for 24 hours as one of Legacy of Hope’s sponsored 24-hour athletes. I will be joined by my wife, Mary, and three children, Alicia (8), Johnny (5), and Theo (18 months). I talk to them about perseverance a lot, and now I aim to show them.

Is there an easier way to accomplish this goal?

Probably.

But I get to climb with like minded people who support my love for charity and pushing the limits of the mind and body, so that’s a bonus.

I could tell you about the families in Philadelphia who benefit from the support Legacy of Hope provides. I could tell you about the impact that this event has on the lives of people fighting cancer. I could go on and on about the feeling you get when you get to see the effect you have based on the challenge you’ve undertaken. But if you’ve gotten this far, you probably already know all of that.

I climb to support the others who are climbing. I’ve done a few 24 hour events and I am there to tell you that you have more left.

If you’re tired, do it tired.

I commit that I will be there every step of the way to keep it fun.

I’m going to try to make this the hardest climb ever.  Got a challenge? Think you have an idea that’ll make me throw in the towel?

I’m listening.
