This September 21st and 22nd,  I am climbing the "Rocky Steps" at the Philadelphia Museum of Art for 24 hours straight as one of Legacy of Hope’s sponsored athletes in the 7th annual PHL24 endurance event.   As most of you know, I came late to endurance running and climbing , but after connecting with my coach and Project Endure I was successful in the Saranac 6 Ultra last year, and am excited to set my sights on this goal! I have  found a certain peace and energy in trail running and climbing and have embraced the motto "Do Hard Things".  Sarah and I currently know mutliple people battling cancer, and while they are not facing the additonal obstacles of hunger and homelessness, I am proud to embrace this endurance effort as a metaphor for the endurance it takes to battle cancer, and to support Legacy of Hope.

This year, the PHL24 fundraising goal is $250,000.  The goal is bold because their patients' needs are critical. With your support, achieving this goal will enable Legacy of Hope to acquire a building that will serve as the David April Emergency Patient Support Community Center. The Center will be a hub of essential services for cancer patients and their families who are facing hunger and homelessness because they are too sick to work.  While this journey won’t be easy,  the commitment and resolve are unwavering.  

I promise never to quit, and I need your support.  The 24 hour athlete team remains steadfast in our resolve to make a lasting impact on the lives of those who have nowhere else to turn.  We promise to leave our Legacy of Hope.
